Founder David Rounick
Who is David Rounick?
David Rounick’s involvement in the fashion industry stems from his time at Deb Shops, a nationwide specialty retailer of fashionable apparel, shoes and accessories. David Rounick’s grandfather, Philip Rounick, founded JOY Hosiery in Philadelphia with Aaron Weiner. Later, when the next generation came onboard, David’s father, Marvin Rounick, and Warren Weiner expanded the company with the opening of Deb Shops and Tops & Bottoms into shopping malls nationwide. Mr. Rounick’s expertise stems from his involvement with Deb Shops, a leading nationwide retail chain, including selecting and purchasing/leasing real estate for retail brick and mortar locations / storefronts; purchasing products from various manufacturers and vendors; negotiating all aspects of garment purchases, materials and production; and distributing apparel among 340 stores throughout the U.S.
Working in the family business at a young age, Mr. Rounick obtained hands-on experience in all facets of the apparel industry, specifically the junior, plus size and accessories segments of the industry at that time. Although the Rounick family later sold the company, he gained extensive knowledge of all facets of apparel in terms of mass marketing, design and manufacturing. Since then, David Rounick formed EPM Apparel and is now launching Ookie & Lala apparel as well as offering custom apparel design and manufacturing services.
